Easter name activities are a perfect addition to your Easter activities for preschoolers! Young minds need hands-on, meaningful activities to learn. And what’s more meaningful than their own names?!
Name recognition and writing are fundamental to what we do in preschool. Names are important to the kiddos, and learning their names is something every preschooler strives for. A child’s name can be used to teach so many early learning concepts, too.

Why Add Name Activities to Your Easter Lesson Plans?
I’m a big believer in name activities in preschool. Children can learn so many concepts with their names, as well as with their friends’ names. Here are just some of the concepts I’ve used names to teach:
- High frequency words
- Letter identification
- Letter sounds
- Letter formation
- Comparing and contrasting
- Counting
Using a variety of materials with different textures and colors adds a sense of novelty and provides a different sensory experience for the children as they learn their names. The vibrant colors grab kids’ attention and let them explore math concepts (like sorting and patterning).
