Winter is a great time to teach kids about Arctic animals. Any time of the year would work, though! I suppose the colder winter weather is just what does it for me. It also helps the kids connect with the topic a bit more – especially if you live in an area where it snows.

Below you’ll find printables to go along with your Arctic theme. You can also use them for kids who love all kinds of animals, or just because!

One note – a couple of the printables include penguins. Penguins live below the equator, so they are definitely not Arctic animals. You can work around the penguins, or you can change your theme to center on polar animals instead. You can even challenge the children to find the animals that don’t belong. That’s completely up to you!
