Preschool Cooking Materials

Cooking and creating snacks or meals is such a rich experience for children! They get to practice tons of early learning concepts like measuring, following along with text, and following directions. On top of all of those learning opportunities, the children get to engage their senses.

So, with that in mind, I’ve created a list of some great items to have on hand when diving into a cooking activity with children. Check it out below. I may get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

  • Child-sized aprons
  • Measuring cups
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons
  • Large spoons for mixing
  • Kid-friendly utensils
  • Kid’s dish set
  • Kid’s chef hats
  • Aluminum foil
  • Parchment paper

Cooking and creating snacks with children is such a wonderful learning activity. And the independence and confidence that the children gain in the process is just the icing on the cake!
