My preschool year is coming to an end, and Engineer’s almost done too. Which means SUMMER is upon us! To welcome the season, I put together a list of fun summer snacks the kiddos (and their parents!) could enjoy.

delightful summer snacks for kids

S’mores on a stick | Fun-A-Day!
My son loves making s’mores during the summer, but we don’t always have a campfire. These simple, tasty summer snacks are a great alternative.

Ice Cream in a Bag | Buggy and Buddy
I love that this summertime treat doubles as a science experiment!

Watermelon Ladybug Pops | Twodaloo
Almost too cute to eat. Almost!

Homemade Snow Cones | Nothing if Not Intentional
In my opinion, snow cones are a MUST during the summer! This snow cone syrup recipe has just 3 ingredients, and the kiddos can help make it.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Popsicles | My Nearest and Dearest
Turn a favorite smoothie recipe into a frozen summer treat. How delicious!

Seashell Snack | Fantastic Fun and Learning
A sweet treat that looks just like the beach! I can see the kids having a blast making and eating this!

Watermelon Popsicles | Coffee Cups and Crayons
A chilly, refreshing snack for those hot summer days! This snack reminds me of making my own popsicles when I was a child!

Frozen Grape Caterpillars | Sugar Aunts
I love how simple this summer snack is. The kiddos can even work on their fine motor skills while they help make the caterpillars!

Fruit Cones | A Mom with a Lesson Plan
This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” snacks! Perfect for a summer camp out, or just because.

Watermelon Cake | How Wee Learn
A beautiful “cake” full of vibrantly colored fruit! Make it using seasonal summer produce – with help from the kids of course.

What are your kids’ favorite summer snacks? I’d love to have more ideas on-hand as summer approaches!

Hands-On Preschool Materials

It is imperative that we keep our classrooms stocked with materials that will give our students the hands-on learning experiences that they love (and need!). There are a few specific things that I always keep on-hand in my classroom. Check them out in the list below.

I may get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

  • Crayons
  • Glue
  • Blocks
  • Puzzles
  • Safety scissors
  • Dramatic play items
  • Math manipulatives
  • Dry erase markers
  • Sensory items
  • Play dough
  • Craft supplies
  • Playground balls
  • Music and movement tools
  • Books, books, and more books!

When it comes to preschool, this list is really just skims the surface of the wide variety of materials that can be used. The best thing about this age group is that they learn the most while playing. So, whether they’re playing on the playground, building with blocks, or creating a masterpiece, rest assured that the children are learning so many important skills, all while having fun!
